Welcome to Mindscape – the festival of ideas, based in Navi Mumbai. This is an annual event, organised in December / January, brought to you by X-PiCAN, the Alumni Association of Pillai’s College of Architecture (PiCA), New Panvel, Navi Mumbai.
We are an independent non-profit organisation with no affiliations, and a simple idea. An idea to bring together change makers – and ask them to tell us their story. We wanted to promote debates and discussions, and celebrate the magical mix of arts, design, science, and humanities, in the city of Navi Mumbai.
We started in 2012, and every year since, we welcome, among others, inspiring people from various disciplines.
From talks, through to films, Mindscape is the best regular event in Navi Mumbai. Each year, Mindscape brings together notable personalities in a weekend-long series of interactive discussions, performances, and film(s).
Participation in the festival is open to all, and more importantly, attendance is free. Mindscape takes places at the starlit open-air amphitheatre in Urban Haat, the heart of Navi Mumbai’s cultural beat. Our audience sees citizens of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Panvel & Thane, especially young professionals.

Mahatma Education Society
Mahatma Education Society was established in the year 1970 by a group of teachers with an aim of spreading education for all. The society today has 48 institutions popularly known as the Pillai Group of Institutions ranging from pre-primary level to post graduate studies, having under its umbrella over 35,000 students and 2,500 teachers. The society manages various schools in four different board systems. It runs junior colleges and degree colleges in Arts, Commerce and Science. It has established several professional and technical colleges variously offering Diploma, UG and PG courses in fields such as Architecture, Engineering, Management, Education, Bio-technology etc. At campuses located at various places in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Rasayani (Raigad District). Most of these institutions are accredited by NBA and other Government bodies, some of them have been re-accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC.
Pillai College of Architecture
The MES Pillai College of Architecture, popularly known as PiCA was established in 1992. It offers a five year Bachelor’s Degree programme in Architecture and a two year full-time Master of Architecture programme with specialization in Urban Design, both affiliated to Mumbai University. Over the years, PiCA has fostered innovative teaching- learning and research practices among its dynamic faculty and vibrant student body. It has carried out research projects for government and local bodies contributing to the knowledge of the region. Its alumni have earned respect in the profession and academia. X-Picans, the alumni association of PiCA holds an annual festival of ideas called ‘Mindscape’ which has become a popular public event in Navi Mumbai.
X-Pican
X-PiCAN is the Alumni Association of Mahatma Education Society’s (MES) Pillai’s College of Architecture (PiCA), New Panvel, Navi Mumbai. The association was formally established in 2011 & is registered under the Societies Act of 1860 (Registration No: Maharashtra/575/2011/Raigad).
Music Liberation Union
M.L.U organizes sessions & workshops where people of all ages passionate about the art of Music (irrespective of genre) can get together to express their knowledge about the same; to socialize, discuss, perform their compositions & jam together.
M.L.U believes in Music being presented in it's rightful image. The organisation aims at propagating a deeper insight of this universal art-form among the youth and also to enrich the cultural growth within the city of Navi-Mumbai(New Bombay) and beyond.
Urban Sketchers Navi Mumbai (USNM)
USNM is a group of people with passion for sketching and art from Navi Mumbai. Every Sunday they gather at some selected location from Navi Mumbai for group sketching.
This is an ideal group for people having interest for sketching and water color painting. It's a fun way to learn and sharpen your sketching skills .
